PREVIEW: Dick Dynamite: 1944 (2025 Film) - A Wild Ride of Blood, Bullets, and B-Movie Madness

Dick Dynamite: 1944

Preview by Jon Donnis

Exploding onto Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital from 5 May, Dick Dynamite: 1944 is a retro-inspired action-comedy that cranks up the chaos with a mix of over-the-top violence, outrageous humour, and non-stop carnage. Described as a "riotous, non-stop comedy blood bath" by Louder Than War and praised for its crude, ultra-violent, and cheesy charm by Film Threat, the film fully embraces the spirit of grindhouse cinema, throwing historical accuracy out the window in favour of relentless action and absurd spectacle.

Set in the final days of World War II, the film follows the cigar-chomping, Nazi-smashing Dick Dynamite as he fights to stop a sinister German plot to unleash a zombie apocalypse on New York. Alongside a team of foul-mouthed mercenaries, Dynamite faces off against a rogues' gallery of enemies, including ninjas, cyborgs, bikers, and even mummified snipers, all while battling the sadistic Colonel Maximillian Schtacker. The film is a blood-soaked love letter to classic action flicks, infused with punk rock energy and a cast featuring members of legendary bands such as The Exploited, Biohazard, Queens of the Stone Age, and Rancid.

With its mix of practical effects, outlandish action, and a soundtrack that screams rebellion, Dick Dynamite: 1944 is set to become a cult favourite for fans of old-school action excess. Brought to home entertainment by Dazzler Media, this no-holds-barred thrill ride is ready to take audiences back to a version of 1944 where history is rewritten in blood and bullets.
