PREVIEW: Demise (2025 Film) - A Volcanic Home-Wrecking Thriller Set to Ignite the UK This April

Demise

Preview by Jon Donnis

Yara Estrada Lowe's directorial debut, Demise, is set to make its UK digital debut on 14 April, and it looks like a fiery cocktail of obsession, betrayal and unrelenting vengeance. Touted as a "steamy and unhinged erotic thriller" by Dread Central, the film blends the heightened emotions of a telenovela with the gritty tension of classic 80s and 90s thrillers like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.

The story follows Caleb (Carlo Mendez), who seems to have the perfect marriage with his wife Celine (Liz Fenning). Celine dreams of having a baby to complete their picture-perfect life, but Caleb has been hiding a dark secret. He's been having a passionate affair with fashion designer Fiona (Crystal Hernandez) for over a year. When Celine discovers the truth, her world shatters, and her heartbreak turns to pure fury when she learns Fiona is pregnant.

What starts as devastation soon mutates into a ruthless obsession. Celine's need for revenge knows no limits as she sets a sinister plan in motion to destroy everything Caleb and Fiona have built together. As the couple prepare for the birth of their child, Celine's relentless pursuit threatens to engulf them all in chaos.

Estrada Lowe crafts a film brimming with shocking twists and intense performances, with Mendez, Fenning and Hernandez delivering a tangled web of passion and destruction. Demise promises to keep viewers on edge with every explosive turn, offering a twisted tale of love and retribution that lingers long after the credits roll.
