LEGEND Brings Classic Action and Thriller Premieres This April

LEGEND is set to deliver an action-packed April with a slate of iconic films making their Channel premiere. This month, viewers can expect a mix of cult classics, crime thrillers, and adventure epics, all bringing high-stakes drama to the small screen.

Leading the lineup is John Carpenter's sci-fi action masterpiece Escape from New York, starring Kurt Russell as the legendary Snake Plissken. Set in a dystopian future where Manhattan has become a walled-off prison, the film follows Plissken's mission to rescue the President from a gang-controlled city. Also making its debut is the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish, directed by Michael Winner and starring Charles Bronson as a man pushed to the edge after a brutal attack on his family.

Escape from New York

For those who enjoy psychological thrillers, Paul Verhoeven's Basic Instinct makes its way to LEGEND, bringing Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone's electrifying cat-and-mouse game to new audiences. Meanwhile, historical action fans can look forward to Centurion, directed by Neil Marshall, which follows Michael Fassbender and Dominic West as Roman soldiers fighting for survival behind enemy lines.

British crime thriller Vendetta, starring Danny Dyer, adds a modern touch to the lineup, with Dyer playing a former special-ops soldier hunting down a gang responsible for his parents' deaths. Meanwhile, John Badham's Drop Zone brings skydiving stunts and high-flying action, with Wesley Snipes taking on a group of techno-terrorists.

The matinee schedule also includes a selection of classic films. The 1976 version of King Kong, starring Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange, brings the legendary ape back to life with groundbreaking effects. Treasure Island (1972) features Orson Welles as the infamous Long John Silver, while The Scarlet Blade (1963) showcases Oliver Reed in a gripping historical drama set during England's Civil War.

For Western fans, Arizona Bushwhackers (1968) and Apache Rising (1965) offer classic frontier storytelling, while The Last Command (1955) brings the legendary story of the Alamo to the screen.

With an eclectic mix of sci-fi, crime, adventure, and historical epics, LEGEND's April lineup promises something for everyone. Whether it's high-octane action or gripping drama, these films are set to make their mark on the channel this month.
