Sky and Future Artists Entertainment have officially begun production on Tinsel Town, a heartwarming Christmas comedy starring Kiefer Sutherland and Rebel Wilson. Set to bring plenty of festive magic to screens in December 2025, the film follows a washed-up Hollywood action star who finds himself in an unexpected role far from the bright lights of Los Angeles.
Sutherland plays Bradley Mack, a once-iconic action hero whose career takes a nosedive when his long-running franchise is cancelled. Hoping to reinvent himself as a serious actor, he heads to England with dreams of a West End revival, only to be sent to a small village to star in the town's eccentric production of Cinderella. Faced with a cast of quirky locals and a disastrous start to rehearsals, Bradley's hopes of reclaiming his career seem doomed. But as he clashes with no-nonsense choreographer Jill, played by Wilson, he begins to find unexpected joy, forming new friendships and embracing the festive spirit in ways he never imagined.
Directed by Chris Foggin and written by Frazer Flintham, Adam Brown and Piers Ashworth, with additional material by Jake Brunger, Tinsel Town promises to be a hilarious and uplifting addition to the Christmas movie lineup. Sutherland expressed his excitement about working in the UK again, while Wilson joked about experiencing a true British Christmas, swapping sun-soaked Australian BBQs for sledding and freezing temperatures. Sky's Director of Original Film, Julia Stuart, described the film as feel-good, festive and fun, making it a perfect seasonal treat for all audiences.
With filming taking place across the North of England and at Leeds' Versa Studios, Tinsel Town is already shaping up to be a charming holiday hit. Sky Cinema viewers can look forward to its release in Christmas 2025, bringing plenty of laughs, warmth and festive cheer to the holiday season.
